Allyson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Windsor. During her final year in this programme, she was hired by Fools For Health, Canada’s first clown-doctoring program. Allyson was immediately touched by this extraordinary work, attracted to the combination of keen and demanding performance skills, and connection with humanity clown-doctoring had to offer. She was the paediatric liaison for Fools For Health during her time with them, and also helped to train and mentor new clown-doctors as the demand for service arose.
Allyson has been living in Vancouver since 2003, acting in live performance and TV commercials. She has instructed and facilitated many performance workshop series for children ages 3-18 in community centre, summer program, and school settings. Allyson is thrilled to have developed Western Canada’s first clown-doctoring company, loves her support network, and makes a habit of smiling and saying hello to strangers every day
